A brief look into Epicureanism

Epicurus was a Greek philosopher who, among other things, developed a framework of principles in pursuit of happiness. He cautioned against the excessive indulgence of traditional hedonists and instead promoted simple, wholesome pleasures, freedom from fear (ATARAXIA) and the absence of bodily pain (APONIA) as the path to a fulfilling life. His view on happiness opposes today’s society in which instant gratification, greed and unhinged ambition have resulted in confusion and anxiety for millions around the world. VALYOU recommends reading the book ‘The Art of Happiness’ by Epicurus should you be interested in learning more.
